Quick Fact: William Thompson, a senior scientist with the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), released a statement via a law firm saying [1]: "I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journalPediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism."
Thompson goes on to say that his reason for coming forward was because of conversations with Dr. Brian Hooker over the course of 10 months. Those conversations were about whether or not there is a connection between vaccines and neuro-developmental outcomes including autism spectrum disorders. Thompson clearly states that his hand was forced by Hooker who secretly recorded the conversations. Upon receiving the CDC Whistleblower documents in December 2015, Ben Swann, founder of Truth in Media(link is external) and an award winning journalist (two Emmy awards and three Edward R. Murrow awards), organized a team of doctors, journalists, authors and former CDC specialists to analyze the documents. This video documentary, released February 26, 2016, details the alleged corruption on the part of CDC leadership to manipulate and change the findings of the CDC study on autism and vaccines published in a 2004 article in the journal Pediatrics. Meantime, pharmaceutical Merck is facing at least two federal court cases over the MMR vaccine, and may well also have to defend itself in US Congress [2]. Representative Bill Posey (a longtime critic of the CDC) and his staff are now reviewing a thousand documents that William Thompson has turned over to Congress. |
In December of 2015, Ben Swann became the first journalist to receive the CDC Whistleblower documents provided by Dr. William Thompson to Congress in 2014. This report details the alleged corruption on the part of CDC leadership to manipulate and change the findings of a CDC study published in a 2004 article in the journal Pediatrics.
