FIVE FACTS ABOUT TETANUS
#1 – Getting a tetanus vaccine when infected will not halt the disease. Vaccine manufacturer states it take WEEKS for build antibodies to neutralize the toxin. #2 The tetanus vaccine does not guarantee immunity. #3 – The vaccine is packed with toxins. #4 – Vaccines may contribute to acute and chronic health issues. #5 – Proper wound cleaning can greatly reduce the likelihood of infection. |
WHAT IS TETANUS?WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF TETANUS?
|
Tetanus, commonly called lockjaw, is caused by a bacterium that is mostly present in soil, manure, and in the digestive tracts of animals and humans. Tetanus is not contagious and cannot be transmitted from person to person. Tetanus is caused by toxins produced by a bacterium called Clostridium tetani. The dormant germs (spores) live in soil, dust, and manure. They can enter the body through cuts and puncture wounds, but will only multiply in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment.
The incubation period, from the time of the injury until the first symptoms appear, is an average of 8 days. However, careful attention to wound hygiene will eliminate the possibility of tetanus in most cases. Deep puncture wounds and wounds with a lot of dead tissue should be thoroughly cleaned and not allowed to close until healing has occurred beneath the skin. Its important to note "Tetanus in the U.S. is very rare." - Merck manufacturer of tetanus vaccine. CDC's U.S. statistics confirm that tetanus is a rare disease. There were 233 tetanus cases were reported during 2001-2008; among the 197 cases with known outcomes, the case-fatality rate was 13.2%. Average annual incidence during that period was 0.10 per 1 million population overall. The real cause of tetanus is not a germ, but dirt and filth. The bacteria are harmless when placed into a surgically clean wound. Tetanus develops when drainage of a wound is checked and dirt is retained in the tissues. The bacilli do not circulate in the blood. They remain at the point of entry and produce toxins. One of these poisons, tetanospasmin, is one of the most dangerous poisons known to man which occasions vigorous activity in the nervous tissues. The other toxin, tetano-lycin, occasions a breakdown of the blood cells. If good drainage is facilitated from the beginning, tetanus will not result from a wound.
A TETANUS SHOT WILL NOT BE EFFECTIVE FOR WEEKS! Infection sets in an average 7 days after injury. According to the vaccine manufacturer, "Because the vaccine takes weeks to be effective, <only> tetanus immune globulin provides antibodies that neutralize the toxin immediately."
Vaccine Manufacturer Consumer information Merck Manuals The Journal of Neuroscience Research reports that "Exposure to tetanus toxin fragment by nerve terminals from an intramuscular depot is an avid and rapid process and is not blocked by vaccination." (source: J Neurosci Res 83, 1540-1543 (2006)) Vaccines Do Not Prevent Tetanus
A tetanus vaccine does NOT protect you from getting tetanus. While the medical profession likes to take the credit for ALL the decline of tetanus courtesy of a vaccine, this is simply NOT true. The proof of that lies with neonatal tetanus in the developed world, which DISAPPEARED well before the existence of either anti-toxin or a vaccine. If we look at the documented Tetanus Mortality England & Wales from 1901 to 1999 , we find that the administration of tetanus vaccine is likely to be pointless and puts children especially at risk of adverse reactions to the vaccines. Deaths related to Tetanus and tetanus incidents overall, sharply decreased long before the vaccine was introduced widely during World War II.Debate as to whether humans can develop circulating antitoxin against tetanus in the absence of vaccination is futile since evidence of natural immunity has been observed globally. Although there have been conflicting results, some studies in Brazil, China, Ethiopia, India, Italy, Israel, Spain and the USSR have shown substantial proportions of unimmunized populations with detectable levels of antitoxin. Specifically, up to 80% of persons in India and up to 95% of persons in a group of Ethiopian refugees had levels of antitoxin suggestive of protection. It is admitted by medical experts that this phenomenon has not been adequately studied, and yet it is apparent that when unexpected or undesirable findings emerge, rather than acknowledging the results, it is presented as an ongoing debate!
Institute of Medicine (IOM) now admits: "Vaccines are not free from side effects, or "adverse effects""
The government maintained database called the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is available for anyone to search or download information on vaccine reactions. (Consumer friendly interface: MedAlerts.org) As of May 2016 there were 41,083 cases of serious reactions to the Tetanus DTaP or TDaP vaccine. Serious reactions such as seizures, hospitalizations, permanent paralysis of right extremities, mental retardation, developed polyneuropathy & required mechanical ventilation,Anaphylactic reaction, Guillian Barre Syndrome requiring intubation. What if you get a puncture wound such as from a nail or a staple?
Obviously careful attention to wound hygiene will eliminate the possibility of tetanus in most cases. Deep puncture wounds and wounds with a lot of dead tissue should be thoroughly cleaned and not allowed to close until healing has occurred beneath the skin. Addition, it makes sense that super nutrition could help your body deal with the toxin should it take hold. That means extra cod liver oil, natural vitamin C, lacto-fermented foods and plenty of bone broths. Avoid stresses after the injury and get plenty of bed rest so your body can devote itself to dealing with the challenge.
